Aries Arise sees Sofia Prantera (founder of 90’s cult brand Silas) reunite with her Slam City Skates co-worker and longtime friend Fergus Purcell aka Fergadelic. The duo, who are both widely known for their individualistic and distinctive style - for instance Ferg designed the Palace logo and worked on graphics for Marc Jacobs, both sat down and decided to establish their womenswear label in 2010, with the help of Luca Benini.
Born out of a need to balance their love of high fashion, trash culture and streetwear, the Aries Arise blurs and reshapes the boundaries. Each original collection includes embroidered sweaters, alternative patched denim and collectors logo t-shirts. Every item is hand printed, dyed and finished in their UK studio, so no piece is the same and waste is minimal. Subversive and unconventional, Aries was recently described by Dazed magazine as ‘the London label doing female streetwear right,’ we wholeheartedly agree.
